Minit 3.1: There are Processes hidden in your Processes

Yes, it took us some time, but it was worth the wait. We are very excited to introduce the star of Minit Process Mining version 3.1: Event-level filtering capabilities with the best-in-breed performance and user experience that only Minit can give you. You can read the use case example in the post here.
Minit 3.1. also introduces new Map Clustering functionality that enables the user to visually encapsulate activities in the Process Map view and Case duration Influence statistics a sophisticated analytical insight that automatically evaluates the impact of case-level attributes (including financial) on the mean case duration.

Minit 3.1 event-level filtering capablities
In Minit 3.1 we are introducing several new types of filters: 1) case-level and 2) event-level filters and the option to combine them as your imagination allows.
In leading roles:
Attributes (conditional)
This filter enhances the Attribute filter with additional criteria based on other attribute or metrics, e.g., you still want to find all cases where activity Approval occurs, but only those where this Approval was executed by a specific resource or the duration of this Approval exceeds a certain KPI.
To do that select the additional criteria type Attribute/Metric:
And specify the value(s) for it:
Attributes (event level)
Use this filter to only select those events in cases that contain/do not contain a specific attribute value – such as only particular activities or only events performed by a particular department (e.g., First line support department for ServiceDesk).
Attribute selection
Here you need to select an attribute for the filter rule. All available attributes in the process are selectable.
Attribute value selection
Attribute values for the filter rule are selected on the right side of the screen.
There are two possibilities to define the values for filter criteria (click on the respective tab to switch):
- List (available for string attributes) – in this tab you can select/remove values to/from the list and you can use search to find specific values in the list of possible values, in case the list is too long (do not forget to select them).

To make the selection of attribute values easier, you can use the selection buttons to select all values, to cancel the selection of all values and to invert the selected values.
- Expression (available for both string and numeric attributes) – in this tab you can specify an expression such as „Starts with,“ „Contains“ for string and „Greater than,“ „Equal“ for numeric attributes.

Subprocess
Use this filter to „cut“ out a part of the process from all cases (where the criteria for subprocess do not apply, the case is wholly excluded). For example, in a purchase order approval process we want to focus on the part from purchase order creation until the purchase order is marked as approved or in a service center ticket solving process we want to see only the part being dealt by the second level support department.
In general, this filter can be defined as:
Extracting events of each case in chronological order from the first occurrence of the event with a specific value(s) of the first attribute until the last occurrence of the event with the specific value(s)_of second attribute.
The following screenshot is showing settings for the subprocess from the first occurrence of a Status change to Approved to the last occurrence of Status changed to Accounted activity.
Selecting an attribute for comparing events
Here you choose the attribute by which the events in the case are selected.
Specification of the first event
Here you choose which events belong to the first group of events. Select permissible values for its selected attribute in the list on the right side of the screen.
The first occurrence of this event will be evaluated.
Specification of the second event
Here you choose which events belong to the second group of events. Select permissible values for its selected attribute in the list on the right side of the screen.
The last occurrence of this event will be evaluated.
