What is new in Minit version 3.2

minit-32-blogpost

Minit version 3.2 introduces a new Variant DNA analysis so you can immediately see the characteristics of your process, improved process cloning functionality and scheduled data refresh and automated compliance checking.

What is encoded in the genes?

Variant highlighting, variant filter, and variant overview/detail have always been an integral part of Minit functionality. Variants, their amount, case coverage and distribution characterize the analyzed process, level of its standardization and automation.

In previous versions, we focused on drilling down into variant details, without giving a more general overview of the process character. Let’s go one level up and have a look from the bird’s perspective. In Minit v3.2 you can deselect all variants in Variant Overview screen to reveal the colorful Variant DNA view.

This allows you to immediately see the characteristics of your process, the similarity between most frequent variants and even to visually spot repeated patterns.

Moreover, we introduce some new colors to the Minit palette as well.

Variant Analysis

Who are we talking about?

- John.
- Ah, you mean John.
- No, not John, but John.

A month ago, you felt proud of the complex filter you created in your P2P process analysis? Did you open the view now and felt lost?

Filters

Oh, yes, we do understand (please, put that pen down!).

So, does this make more sense?

Filters criteria set

Clicking on the filter title lets you rename the filter in a particular view.

Clicking the small Info icon shows detailed filter criteria summary.

Dolly the sheep and her successors

Dolly (5 July 1996 – 14 February 2003) was the first mammal cloned from a single cell. In Minit, you no longer need to start from the bottom. Cloning a process can now not only be combined with data refresh, but you can also decide whether you would like to copy the process including your complete analysis (process views) or start from the scratch.

To repeat your 2 weeks lasting O2C process analysis you did last year, with new data, is thus only a checkbox click ahead:

Cappuccino, croissant and fresh data – breakfast makes the day

Since its introduction, data refresh became one of the most popular and wanted functionalities in Minit. As promised, we enhanced this lovable feature with a bit more automation. Starting from version v3.2, you no longer must push the button, your data is refreshed automatically, whenever you need it and whenever it’s most convenient for you (and your IT infrastructure department of course).

In Minit v3.2 a helpful wizard guides you through the process of creating a scheduled job. Minit allows you to schedule not only data imports but also data exports (based on a created process view):

Also, allows you to define almost any crazy schedule that someone used on the LOB systems exports:

Compliant or Not-Compliant, that is the question

Have you ever wondered, how your real-life process complies with a blueprint that you already have as a result of manual process analysis or as an output from the external consulting company? How your daily operation defers from internal regulations or whether it follows external, e.g., legal rules?

Most of the blueprints come modeled using a BPMN diagram.

Minit v3.2 now allows you to use the widely popular process compare functionality to find the answers to these questions. Until now, you have been able to create layers out of the mined models based on the imported data; now you can add a new type of layer – BPMN diagram. Just use the existing BPMN standard compliant diagram or model your desired process in any of the available modeling tools and add it to your process view:

BPMN Layer

Minit immediately translates and visualizes the model in the process comparison module and shows you any deviations from your daily reality:

Process Compare

And not only that. Some enterprises use BPO platforms to describe how the company works, starting with mission and vision, through strategy and ending with all the different underlying processes so that all employees are on the same wave. Most of these platforms consume BPMN diagrams to describe the daily business and Minit does allow you to feed them with the right type of food easily.

V3.2 allows you to export the process map right out of the process view in a BPMN 2.0 compliant format. Pure reality based on physical data:
